It’s been said that one shouldn’t prime useres to much before conducting user research, because this might introduce bias to the process. Jodie Moule outlines, how priming actually gives more accurate and helpful insights to user research, and how it reduces the users’ anxiety within the process, thus delivering more helpful results: “[Priming] performs a highly valuable role as an ice-breaker to kick-off and ground the evaluation session …. But more importantly, it assists to anchor discussions and often reveals associations and subconscious links that the participant may not have thought to mention if they were responding ‘off-the-cuff’.”
